Looking for Jaktogo? Here’s the Wearable Luggage You Can Still Buy
Jaktogo made the wearable-luggage idea famous: a coat with huge pockets that you wear onto the plane. If you have tried to buy one recently, you will have noticed there is nothing to buy — when we checked in October 2026, jaktogo.com no longer ran a shop, and neither did Rufus Roo or the Airport Jacket. The idea is very much alive, though. This page lists what is still on sale, how each option works, and where the Ryanwear Packing Jacket fits: a normal-looking hooded jacket whose lining carries a full outfit, shipped from the EU.

Wearable luggage that still looks like a jacket

The famous wearable-luggage coats solved the space problem with size: long coats, giant pockets, sometimes a bag folded inside. Ours solves it with the lining. Horizontal zipped tubes run across the inside of a plain hooded jacket, and each tube takes one rolled garment — so a full outfit travels flat, spread across your back and sides instead of hanging in two heavy pockets.
You get the useful part of the idea — tomorrow’s outfit off your back and out of your bag — without walking through the airport in a coat that looks like luggage.
- The classic coats used size: giant pockets, long coats
- Ours uses the lining: one rolled garment per zipped tube
- The outfit travels flat — the jacket still looks normal
- ✓ A full outfit, spread flat across the lining
- ✓ About 600 g — a light shell, not a heavy coat
- ✗ It does not turn into a bag — it stays a jacket

Is Jaktogo still available?
Not online. Jaktogo — the Bulgarian coat that folded into a bag and was pitched as carrying around 10 kg — still shows up in searches in half a dozen languages, but when we checked on 18 October 2026 jaktogo.com did not open a shop, and the last working version of its store we could find in public web archives dates from December 2024. Travellers on one-bag forums have been asking where to buy one since at least late 2024.
If you want what Jaktogo promised — clothes worn instead of carried — the practical options today are a pocketed jacket or vest from a brand that still sells, or a jacket whose lining is built for clothes.
- jaktogo.com did not open a shop when checked on 18 Oct 2026
- Last working store in public archives: December 2024
- The idea lives on in jackets and vests that still sell
Stuffa jacket: who it suits
Stuffa sells jackets and vests with hidden pockets, marketed as carrying up to 5 kg and adding extra carry-on space on airlines such as Ryanair and easyJet. When we checked in October 2026 it was still selling, with some models — including its women’s jacket — sold out.
It suits travellers who want a vest-style garment with lots of separate pockets. The difference with our jacket is the pocket design: many separate pockets for items versus horizontal tubes built for rolled clothes, inside a sleeved hooded jacket that comes in six sizes and two cuts.
- Hidden-pocket jackets and vests, “up to 5 kg” claimed
- Still selling in Oct 2026, some models sold out
- Many item pockets vs our tubes built for rolled clothes
VoyageCoat vs a packing jacket
VoyageCoat is a US travel coat with more than 16 pockets and a built-in duffle, claimed to carry up to 14 lb (about 6.4 kg). In October 2026 it was on pre-order in sizes S to L, and international orders pay import duties at checkout.
To be fair about the differences: if you specifically want a coat that turns into a bag, ours does not do that. What it does instead is stay a light, normal-looking hooded jacket that carries a full outfit flat, in six sizes, shipped from inside the EU — so there are no import duties for EU buyers and no waiting for a production run.
- VoyageCoat: US coat, 16+ pockets, built-in duffle, “up to 14 lb”
- Pre-order, S–L, duties on international orders (Oct 2026)
- Ours doesn’t become a bag — it stays a light jacket, shipped from the EU
What happened to the Airport Jacket and Rufus Roo?
The Airport Jacket was a 2017 Kickstarter coat with 14 pockets that converted into a duffle; its online store was showing as unavailable when we checked in October 2026, although press coverage from 2017 still fills the search results. Rufus Roo, the UK pocket jacket and vest, was not trading online either: its website did not load a shop. BauBax, the US travel jacket famous for its built-in neck pillow, has shown an unavailable store since 2025 — we compare it with the Packing Jacket on a separate page.
None of that means wearable luggage failed. It means the bulky, gadget-heavy first generation did — and the version that survives is lighter and looks like ordinary clothing.
- Airport Jacket: 2017 Kickstarter, store unavailable (Oct 2026)
- Rufus Roo: no online shop; BauBax store unavailable since 2025
- The bulky first generation faded — lighter designs remain
Is wearable luggage allowed on planes?
Clothing you wear is clothing, not a bag: on the major EU low-cost carriers we checked in July 2026 — Ryanair, easyJet, Wizz Air, Vueling and Transavia — a worn jacket is not counted as luggage. Gate staff still have discretion everywhere, and wearing ten layers or a coat that obviously bulges invites questions, so the sensible version is one normal-looking jacket with one outfit packed flat.
Pair it with a bag built to the free under-seat size — 40 × 30 × 20 cm on Ryanair, Wizz Air and Vueling — and you can travel for a week without paying for a cabin bag.
- A worn jacket is clothing on major EU carriers (checked July 2026)
- Gate staff have discretion — keep it normal-looking
- Pair it with a 40 × 30 × 20 cm free under-seat bag
Where the outfit goes

No giant coat pockets and no bag folded inside. The Packing Jacket carries its load in the lining: a set of horizontal zipped tubes, one rolled garment in each, spread flat across your back and sides.
That is why it can stay a light shell instead of a heavy coat — the clothes are distributed, not piled into two front pockets.
- No giant coat pockets, no bag folded inside
- The load is spread across your back and sides
- That is why it stays a light shell, not a heavy coat
- ✓ Horizontal zipped tubes across the whole lining
- ✓ A full outfit, rolled — soft clothes only
- ✗ No duffle mode: it stays a jacket
Wearable luggage that looks like a jacket

The famous wearable-luggage coats were easy to spot: long, heavy, pockets everywhere. The Packing Jacket is a smooth, lightweight hooded shell in Black or Pink that you would wear on a city break anyway — XS to XXL, with the two colourways cut differently.
It is in stock and ships from the EU, which is more than most of the names on this page can say today.
- A smooth, light hooded shell — not a long coat
- The kind of jacket you would wear on a city break anyway
- The outfit rides in the lining, not in coat pockets
- ✓ About 600 g empty
- ✓ Black and Pink are cut differently — two size charts
- ✓ In stock, shipped from the EU

What is the best Jaktogo alternative?

The Ryanwear Packing Jacket is a hooded jacket whose lining carries a full outfit in zipped tube pockets; it ships from the EU in sizes XS–XXL. If you specifically want a coat that becomes a bag, look at VoyageCoat — a US pre-order with duties for international buyers.
Where can I buy a Rufus Roo jacket?
When we checked in October 2026, Rufus Roo’s website was not running an online shop. Second-hand listings occasionally appear on marketplaces.
What happened to the Airport Jacket?
The Airport Jacket was a 2017 Kickstarter project; its online store showed as unavailable when we checked in October 2026.
How much can a wearable luggage jacket carry?
Makers claim anything from a single outfit to around 10 kg. Remember that weight you wear is still weight on your shoulders. The Packing Jacket is built for a full outfit — T-shirt, leggings, light knit, underwear and socks — carried flat in the lining.
Does the Packing Jacket turn into a bag?
No. It stays a lightweight hooded jacket. That is deliberate: it looks like everyday outerwear, weighs about 600 g, and carries a full outfit without the bulk of a convertible coat.
